President - Nivash Jayaram

Nivash Jayaram is Senior at Hudson High School. He was originally born in Australia, but moved to Hudson when he was five years old and lived here ever since. Nivash values his family which consists of his Mom (Thila), Dad (Jay), and sister (Anusha). They also have a family dog named Raja. Nivash hopes to attend a music school in a big city, majoring in audio production and engineering and minoring in business. After college he hopes to use to his music skills and apply them to one day create his own record label to sell and distribute his own music as well as many other artists. He also is apart of the drama club. Nivash has been a part of various plays including Peter and the Starcatcher and playing Bernardo in West Side Story. He is an active member of the Hudson High Choirs including, the Men's choir, Chamber choir, and Vocal Impact, the HHS show choir. Along with singing, Nivash is also trained in piano, guitar, drums, & ukulele. Additionally, Nivash also is a part of Our Time to Shine, which is an all-inclusive drama program for the special education department. There he helps as a mentor, and crew member, and loves forming new relationships with all the kids. Nivash also participates in HUDDLE, a drug prevention program for students at Hudson middle school. Nivash is also an athlete, he runs track for Hudson, running the one-hundred, two-hundred, and four-hundred meter races and relays. This year his hopes for the team is to make it to the state championship. His favorite quote from Mr. Moore is "Good is not acceptable if better is possible." Choir has been a core part of his life since the fifth grade and he is happy to serve as the President of the choirs for all of the students! #joinchoir!
Vice-President - Karsen Guldan

Karsen Guldan is a senior at Hudson high school, and is very ecstatic about this upcoming year. He is a part of not only the Hudson high school choir program, but also is part of band, orchestra, and jazz 1. Throughout his career at HHS he has been in the Hudson Drama Club, and was last seen as Tony in their production of West Side Story. Karsen is also involved in National Honors society, Modern Music Masters (Tri-M) and The drug free club of America.After high school Karsen wants to continue studying music in college, and one day go on tour with a band.

Public-Relations Team - Haille Mihalek & Lauren Heidler

Haille Mihalek is very excited to be in the HHS choir this year! She, as well as her partner Nivash Jayaram, serves as the public relations team. Haille has been in choir since elementary school and thoroughly enjoys to sing and make music with her peers.. She takes part in the women’s choir, chamber choir and is also a member of Vocal Impact. She has also been in the HHS production if Les Miserables, as her first musical theatre show and plans on being in others on the future. Choir has always been one of her favorite classes, as it is the most fun and entertaining out of all the others. Outside of choir, Haille plays the french horn in the HHS wind symphonic band, is a member of the Hispanic Honorary Society and is very active in her church, Christ Community Chapel. She is a part of her church choir as well. In her free time, Haille is obsessed with watching Grey’s Anatomy, and aspires to be the Meredith Grey. In addition, she likes to play volleyball and softball, spend time with family and hang out with friends, and her awesome dogs. As the choir program is continuing to grow, Haille is beyond excited to learn, sing and connect with her peers this year, and to see what the future holds for the 2017-2018 choir, and the years to come.

Lauren is a Junior and entering her third year of choral activities at Hudson High School. She has been the Soprano I section leader in the Women’s Chorus, played Hotsie as one of the Jet Girls in the school’s performance of West Side Story and is now in the Chamber Chorus and a member of Vocal Impact, the school’s show choir. Lauren takes private voice lessons under Kyle Kelvington at the Aurora School of Music. She is also an accomplished flutist, varsity soccer player and varsity track sprinter.

A successful choir program requires student leadership and a culture of committed singers who consistently exhibit character and a strong work ethic. As we strive to build an outstanding choir program at HHS together, serving as a Choir Officer is your chance to help the choir attain musical, personal, and organizational excellence, to bring your own input and influence to the choir’s various activities, to advocate for the choir within the school community, and to help build a positive and supportive student culture within our choir and school.
Participation as a Choir Officer is something that you can put on college, scholarship and job applications, and be proud of the contribution that you make - you will be actively contributing to something bigger than yourself.
A choir student leader should be:
• academically strong
• a self-starter and hard worker
• a creative problem solver
• an advocate for the choir program
• have a great attitude at all times.
Officers are expected to attend ALL choir functions. They should be proactive about anticipating work that needs to get done, and either volunteer for it or delegate choir members to do it. Choir officers are advocates for the choral program among the HHS student body, and the Hudson community.
Application
Choir officer appointments are made in the last few weeks of the school year. Depending on the interest and applications, elections may occur. An application will be posted on the Google Classroom and must be submitted by Wednesday May 18, 2018.

President

• Collects forms, permission slips, sign up sheets, etc.
• Updates whiteboard with daily announcements
• Responsible for updating classroom calendar.
• Helps new students log onto both Google Classroom and Remind
• May be asked to jot down reminders for Mr. Moore
• Responsible for letting President or VP know to take attendance if absent.
Publicity/Communications VP
• Takes photos at all choir concerts/events
• Makes flyers/posters/FB events for all choir concerts/events
• Helps advertise choir concerts/events
• Make FB event at least two weeks before each concert/event
• Make sure all concerts and auditions are advertised on school announcements
• Delegates helpers to create bulletin boards throughout the year
